Fantasy Moguls

18 11 2008

Twilight opens this weekend, and while it really does not interest me much seeing a slew of people sleep outside in anticipation of the premiere (which happened yesterday) was pretty amazing.

If you’ve never listened to The Radio Dan Show, and it’s okay I understand why, then you might not be familiar with the game fantasy moguls.  It’s a pretty silly way to pass the time.  Think fantasy football.  Now instead of football players, you’re picking movies.  Like Twilight.  And based how well they do, is how well you do.   Fun times, huh?  Anyone who wants to play should send me an email at dan@talkradiox.com.

Most people in the league I’m in have picked Twilight (I’m no exception) and while the movie means nothing to me it’s always interesting to see others who are busting with anticipation over a movie.  I’m just anticipating the points it’s bring in me.

Our paper’s reviewer loathed it. She said it was absolutely awful. I’ve read a lot of good reviews, though. I sort of have the feeling that it’s along the lines of Harry Potter — unless you’re a giant fan of that genre or that series of Stephenie Meyer books, you’re not going to care much. What’s helping them is the major buzz with shows like “True Blood” on HBO that sort of helps fuel this vampire craze. Weird stuff. It’s definitely NOT my thing, but I bet it does well.

I suck and forgot to join the league, by the way.
